How much does it cost?
It’s free! But if you’d like to help support this community event and help us come back next year, donations of $30 are invited and will get you an exclusive festival t-shirt with artwork by Janell Cannon!
Do I need a ticket?
No! Just come on out! But be sure to sign up for email updates so you can stay up on event news!
Where is it?
St. Michael’s campus is located at 2775 Carlsbad Blvd. Carlsbad, CA. All performances will take place on the outdoor stage on the lawn in the middle of campus!
How should I get there?
St. Michael’s campus is located in the heart of Carlsbad Village one block from the Carlsbad Village Train Station. Walking, biking, or taking the train to Jazz Fest is encouraged! Detailed information here.
Of course you can also drive or carpool.
If I drive, where should I park?
Weekends can be busy in the Village. There is some free street parking on the surface streets around St. Michael’s by-the-Sea and the Army and Navy Academy. There is also a large free public parking lot at Carlsbad Village Train Station just a short walk from the campus.
Is there reserved seating?
No. A limited number of benches and seats are located around the campus. Attendees are encouraged to bring outdoor lawn and camping chairs!
Will there be a parade / Second Line?
Yes! There will be a short parade around 4:30 around the campus to lead into Euphoria Brass Band’s set on the main stage. It won’t be far but it will be fun!
Can my kids come?
Of course! Some family-friendly educational activities will also be offered throughout the day. Check out the list of fun activities on the schedule here. Don’t miss local author Janell Cannon reading her beloved classic book Stellaluna at 12:00pm!
Will the Pickleball Courts be open?
The Pickleball Courts will be closed during the festival day. They open again Sunday.
Will there be food?
Yes! Two food vendors will be on site. Info coming soon
Will there be drinks?
Yes! Pizza Port Carlsbad will be on site bringing your signature local favorites … plus, a special brew created just for Jazz Fest. Yes indeed, the ST. MICHAEL’S JAZZ FEST IPA will be unleashed! Mr. Brown Bean will also be serving coffee and there will be other non-alcoholic cold drinks around.
Can I bring outside food or non-alcoholic beverages?
Yes!
Can I bring outside alcohol?
No outside alcohol is permitted at St. Michael’s Jazz Fest. This is a condition of city permitting and will be strictly enforced.
What else should I bring?
Your friends, maybe a couple lawn chairs, some spare Mardi Gras beads, and lots of good vibes!
What else can I do in Carlsbad?

Can I bring my well-behaved dog?
Yes! Dogs are allowed as long as they are on leash and their messes are cleaned up! We're happy to have them on the lawn with us.
